The current building site is the SODO neighborhood south of Safeco Field
Three prototype designs for a new Seattle arena were recently released, including the “preferred option,” which features tall glass windows and steps to create a front porch downtown feel. According to the formal application for the project submitted by investor Chris Hansen, the building could be 725,000 square feet.
Political and legal hurdles as well as an environmental impact study remain in the way of approving the current site, but the conceptual designs by 360 Architecture display the arena in the SODO neighborhood to the south of Safeco Field.
This information on the proposed arena in Seattle was summarized from an article by Chris Daniels and Zahid Arab on NWCN.com. To read it in its entirety and view photos of the three design options, CLICK HERE.
