The Mansion at Churchill Downs will accommodate guests for the first time at this weekend’s Kentucky Oaks and Derby. The Mansion is a 9,380 square-foot, 300-seat stately southern home with a dining room, kitchen, living room, library, parlor, and private wine cellar.
The Hyundai Club, one of the premiere seating locations at Citi Field, formerly known as the Champions Club, is attached to 660 seats, located on the field level behind home plate. It has an all-inclusive buffet with carved meats, pasta, and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages as well as peanuts, popcorn, cookies, and ice cream.
The New York Jets have lowered ticket prices for 3,000 upper-level seats and 2,000 club seats at MetLife Stadium. Some ticket prices in the mezzanine clubs dropped to $295 and $255 from $395 and $295. Additionally, some tickets in the Coaches Club area will fall to $255 from $700.
Six new infield suites are under construction at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Pit Road VIP boxes have open-air seating for 15, 360-degree views of the track, and access to an indoor lounge and are sold on 3-year contracts at $45,000 per year.
The Houston Astros organization is undergoing some big changes. In addition to moving to the American League and operating under a new owner, Jim Crane, the team is making upgrades to its ballpark, Minute Maid Park. The improvements include a $2.5 million facelift of the 330-seat Diamond Club behind home plate.
The events center has 22 suites total, 18 available for purchase, four reserved for sponsor use. The suites are available at 5- or 7-year lease terms at three price points: $45,000 (8 suites), $40,000 (8 suites), and $35,000 (2 suites).
At Coors Field, the home of the Colorado Rockies, 12 right-field suites will become four super suites, and a portion of the press box will be turned into a new club. The ticket price in the new super suites is $150 per person per game and includes food and beverage minus alcohol.
Tod Leiweke was named Chief Executive Officer of Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment, which includes the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Storm, and the Tampa Bay Times Forum, in 2010. Leiweke, who is in his 30th season in professional sports, has led the team's transformation off the ice which has resulted in the more than doubling of the team's season ticket base while vastly increasing its footprint in the community.
