On Opening Day this year, the Detroit Tigers revealed major changes to the main concourse at Comerica Park. A joint project with foodservice partner Delaware North Sportservice, the concourse now features 19 new permanent stands made of brick with quartz countertops.
These new permanent concessions outlets replace 55 portable stands. Even with the significant decrease in quantity, the new stands are much larger and include a net increase of 12 point-of-sale locations. The reconfiguration of the concourse also opens it up to better views of the field and creates additional standing-room-only locations that can be sold for high-demand games.
In addition to the redefinition of space, the Comerica Park concourse has added new digital menu boards, hometown themes, a new bar, and a 150-inch television in and around the Big Cat Court area of the ballpark, as well as the Chevrolet Pavilion, which offers a beverage experience with drink rails open to all fans.
Shawmut Design and Construction served as general contractor for the project.
