The Los Angeles Dodgers have launched a new business accelerator program, dubbed Dodger Accelerator, to identify new technologies for enhancing fan experience.
Through Dodger Accelerator, the team will invest $20,000 a piece into ten start-up companies for three months in order to develop ideas for hosting events more efficiently and profitably. For their investment, the Dodgers receive a six-percent ownership stake in each company.
$100,000 of additional funding (and an increased ownership stake) will be afforded to the most promising companies.
Of specific interest to the Dodgers are technology applications, including more efficient and quicker F&B processes, second-screen experiences, and minimization of Dodger Stadium’s energy footprint.
