The Golden State Warriors have sold naming rights to JP Morgan Chase for their upcoming new arena. Financial terms for the 20-year deal were not disclosed.
Starting in 2019, the Warriors will move from Oracle Arena in Oakland across the Bay to the $1 billion, privately financed Chase Center in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco.
The marketing deal with Golden State adds to JP Morgan Chase’s sports and entertainment portfolio that includes Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, as well as significant partnerships with Madison Square Garden and the U.S. Open tennis tournament. The global banking institution intends on capitalizing on the location of the Warriors’ arena in Silicon Valley by showcasing its progressive banking technology.
