Google is moving more than 100 media sales and technical support employees into office space next to Little Caesars Arena. Construction on the 29,178-square-foot space is expected to be completed in the spring of 2018.
The move is a first for The District Detroit – the 50-block office, retail, and residential development surrounding Little Caesars Arena, the new home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons. Google is the first major tenant not affiliated with the Ilitch family, owners of the Red Wings, to occupy space in the district.
The design-build team for the Google space includes Detroit-based architectural firm SmithGroup, ISM (general contractor), and CBRE (construction manager and brokerage firm).
