Chief Sales Officer Sporting Kansas City
Gregg Allen was named Chief Sales Officer in January 2019, having previously served as Sporting Kansas City’s VP of Ticket Sales and Service since October of 2013. He joined the organization in 2010 as the Manager of Inside Sales before his promotion to Sales Manager, and Director of Ticket Sales in 2012. He currently oversees all ticket sales, corporate partnerships, and youth soccer departments.
Under Allen’s leadership, Sporting Kansas City --- winners of four major championships since 2012 --- has experienced substantial growth over the last eight years in season ticket sales, suite sales, group sales, single match sales, and Sporting Kansas City’s private event arm, Sporting Club Events. Allen is currently involved in the club’s chief endeavors, focusing primarily on growing the business through innovative partnerships, strategic fan development, and providing the city with an unparalleled entertainment experience.
Allen, 34, has overseen a streak of 125 straight MLS sellouts over six seasons, and was named the 2016 MLS Ticketing Executive of the Year and in 2013 led a staff that won MLS Ticket Sales Team of the Year. For more than a decade, Allen has strived to become an industry leader in sales and revenue generation. Children’s Mercy Park continues to be a living laboratory for next-generation applications --- including mobile ticketing and data capturing to tailor the fan experience.
Allen started his career in the National Basketball Association, serving as an Inside Sales Representative, Account Executive, Senior Account Executive, and Night Sales Manager with the Charlotte Bobcats. Outside of the Sporting Kansas City organization, Allen is a member of the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball Executive Leadership Committee, and a consistent supporter of The Victory Project, an initiative from Sporting Kansas City that unites players, staff, and fans to help children battling cancer, and all of life’s challenges. Allen grew up in Barre, Vermont and enjoys going back to the Northeast with his fiancé Ashley to spend time with his parents, brothers, and nieces and nephew.
