John Diaz joined Oak View Group in January 2020 as Vice President of Project Development, bringing with him more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry.
Throughout his career, John has worked on both the construction management side and ownership side of projects. His project list in the Sports & Entertainment sector includes MetLife Stadium, Madison Square Garden, and most recently UBS Arena.
Aside from these Sports & Entertainment projects John has also worked on high-end retail (International Market Place in Waikiki, HI), government (United Nations Capital Master Plan in New York, NY), and transportation (Moynihan Train Hall in New York, NY) projects.
John has held several positions during his career thus far, which has provided him with broad and unique experiences. His career began as a Project Engineer learning the fundamental tasks of construction management. He then worked his way up to Project Management where he was responsible to procure and manage multiple contracts with cumulative values of over $100MM.
John’s experience and knowledge in construction management has been invaluable for his ownership positions; Director, Operations & Logistics at Madison Square Garden and now at Oak View Group. He works with the project management teams and design consultants to develop budgets and design and oversee all aspects of construction.
John currently resides in Northern New Jersey with his wife Caitlin and two daughters; Adelyn and Emmery.
