The new downtown arena for the Sacramento Kings has a new name: The Golden 1 Center. Partnering with Sacramento-based Golden 1 Credit Union, the naming rights deal is reportedly valued at $120 million over 20 years, although Golden 1 and Kings executives have declined to confirm any dollar amounts.
The naming rights deal comes a year in advance of the building’s October 2016 opening, which should help the Kings create momentum to sign other sponsorship deals. It also provides Golden 1 with a year to promote itself before the arena’s doors even open.
As part of the deal, Golden 1 Credit Union members will have access to a menu of perks, including tours of the arena before it opens, private events at the arena, and the ability to purchase discounted tickets.
