LA Clippers eye relocation to new arena in Inglewood

The Los Angeles Clippers have entered into an exclusive agreement with the city of Inglewood to negotiate the terms for a new arena to be built across the street from the new $2.6 billion NFL stadium under construction for the Chargers and Rams that is set to open in 2020.

The proposed arena would be 100-percent privately funded, and the Clippers would also pay a nonrefundable $1.5 million deposit to cover costs associated with the planning. Construction would also include new team offices and a practice facility.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has said the team will remain playing in STAPLES Center until at least 2024, when the team's lease expires.
