More details of the proposed 49er stadium revealed

HNTB calls its design “an outdoor entertainment venue”

Article Synopsis:

As first reported by SEAT last summer, the proposed drawings of a new stadium for the San Francisco 49ers start with offering a premium experience to suite holders and general admission fans alike. The orientation of the bowl brings all 68,500 seats closer to the field, and by aggregating a number of suites in a tower on the west side of the stadium, space is available to place more general admission seating in premier locations throughout the rest of the facility.

Other notable features of the design are the terraces and glass-enclosed lounges, including a roof deck atop the aforementioned suite tower. These locations offer enhanced sightlines and panoramic views of the field as well as a place for fans to meet and socialize together.

Many aspects of life in northern California have been included as well. All seats are red in honor of California’s wine making heritage; the roof deck incorporates a grass roof with native plant life, recycled wood and solar panels; and technology elements include in-seat F&B ordering and handheld devices.
