Construction of the Edmonton Arena District (EAD) continues to take shape. The anchor of the EAD is the new Rogers Place, which will be the new home of the Edmonton Oilers. When completed, the mixed-use neighborhood will also include local dining and retail, two LEED Gold-certified office towers, condominiums and apartments, and a hotel with full conference abilities.
The 18,647-seat Rogers Place will be the first LEED Silver-certified NHL Facility in Canada. It will be state-of-the-art in every sense of the word. From technology improvements to interactive apps, from better in-venue wayfinding to linking into an expanded Edmonton Transit System, Rogers Place will be top of the line.
In total, the EAD will span 25 acres of the city’s downtown. It is expected to attract 3 million visitors each year.
