New Purpose-Built Esports Arena Is Coming to Philadelphia

The Overwatch League is getting a first-of-its-kind, esports-specific arena for its Philadelphia Fusion franchise.

The $50 million, 3,500-seat, Populous-designed arena is being built by Comcast Spectacor, owners of Philadelphia Fusion, and The Cordish Cos. in the South Philly Sports Complex, alongside the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, and Xfinity Live!

Plans for The Fusion Arena include 10,000 square feet of training facilities, broadcast studio space, as well as premium seating and amenities that can also be used during concerts or corporate events.

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and be completed in 2021.
