Hey there, ALSD:
Never say never I suppose, but the current COVID-19 pandemic and its direct impact on our collective livelihood is likely the most complicated situation any of us will manage in our careers. In a moment where seemingly every variable is unknown to us, we are all fielding concerns from clients, from staff, from ourselves. It’s all very unsettling.
The last thing any of us need right now is more uncertainty. So here’s what we are certain of: The ALSD is here to help find clarity and comfort in our new reality. As it has always been, and now more than ever, our first priority is to help our members take decisive and meaningful action based on best practices – to sell more effectively, to service more compassionately, to design experiences for a new world.
After careful consideration, we are delaying our spring issue of SEAT Magazine. You aren’t in the office to receive it, so in its place, we are lining up new and alternative digital products to continue sharing industry news and thought leadership as many of you transition to working from home in the coming days, weeks, months, however long it takes. Here’s what you can expect:
Continued industry coverage on ALSD.com with a focus on COVID-19’s direct and residual impact on the sports venue marketplace.
Greater depth of content distributed in Between the SEATs, the ALSD’s monthly members-only e-newsletter.
Extended video interviews and case studies on the ALSD YouTube channel. If you aren’t a current subscriber, you can do so now. And don’t forget to click the bell to receive instant notification when we upload our latest video.
New virtual classrooms. We are currently exploring expanding our webinar series and introducing new online hangouts for education, networking, and introductions for buyers and sellers.
ALSD Conference updates. We are evaluating a number of potential options for the annual conference and tradeshow to create the best possible experience for our community. We will keep you apprised as decisions are made.
We also want to hear from you. We will survey membership in the coming days to review options and incorporate your insights. Above all else, we are friends with so many of you. So please call us with your ideas and suggestions. Call us with your pain points and questions. Call us if you feel isolated or helpless, if you just need a friend to talk to in this anxious moment.
We are making swift and significant changes to adapt to these changing times. We have been a trusted industry voice for 30 years, and we are committed to strengthening your skills sets for success when the doors to our venues open again. And they will open again.
We’re up for the challenge. And we know you are too. Thank you for continuing to inspire us.
Be well and be kind,
The ALSD Staff: Bill, Amanda, Jared, Max, Pat, Scott, Sam, and John
