The Pittsburgh Steelers recently finished construction on a $35 million renovation of the South Plaza at Heinz Field, in time for this year’s NFL season. Premium upgrades include the new PNC Champions Club and five new suites, as well as a new restaurant and nearly 2,700 additional seats, which were sold to fans who have been on the team’s waiting list for 20 years.
The 20,000-square-foot club provides patrons with views of the player tunnel and access to a cigar bar. And approximately 1,500 club seats have become the closest to the field in all of Heinz Field.
New concessions from Burgatory, Papa John’s, and Mac N’at have been added at the Ford Fan Zone, which provides spectacular views of downtown Pittsburgh.
The renovation was privately financed by the Steelers through an agreement with the Pittsburgh-Allegheny County Sports & Exhibition Authority.
Heinz Field is tentatively planned as one of the feature venue tours at the 2016 ALSD Conference and Tradeshow in Pittsburgh.
