PNC Arena, home of the Carolina Hurricanes, is spending $100,000 to transform one of its luxury suites into theater boxes. To start, only the one suite will be renovated to test the concept. Additional suites could be reconfigured if the idea is successful.
Repurposing suites has developed into an industry-wide trend in recent years, but fractionalized premium seating could be especially attractive in Raleigh, a smaller market with fewer corporations able to afford full suite leases. Approximately one-third of the suites in PNC Arena are currently unsold.
