For its football season opener against Washington, Rutgers is marketing the game as the “War Before the Shore”, a promotion themed behind the television show Jersey Shore.
Grabbing headlines has been the temporary Jacuzzi being installed at the top of the student section. The first 2,000 students will also receive a Rutgers-Adidas-branded tank top and sunglasses.
The first 5,000 fans will receive an Adidas beach towel. This season is Rutgers’ first in partnership with Adidas.
Continuing the “Jersey Shore” theme, a volleyball court and boardwalk games will be available outside the stadium. And in the north end zone, boats are being installed, on which fans will be able to sit and watch the game.
