Premium seating, non-NFL events, and sponsorships at Sun Life Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, all grew in the last fiscal year. These revenue streams are allowing the Dolphins to carry the debt necessary to complete a $400 million renovation of the south Florida stadium. Dolphins’ owner Stephen Ross will privately finance $350 million of the total cost.
Revenues grew across the board in the 2014 fiscal year. Operating revenues increased by 8.7%. Premium seating revenue grew 11.9%. And revenue from concerts and other events increased by 12.5%. Paid home attendance increased 10% over 2013.
Highlights of the upcoming renovation include upgrades to suites and other premium seating, as well as HD video boards in each of the stadium's corners, which will be sold to founding partners, similar to at MetLife Stadium.
