The University of South Carolina is investing $22.5 million to update its football venue, Williams-Brice Stadium, which ranks next to last in the SEC with only 18 luxury suites. The average number of suites in SEC football stadiums is 80.
Due to architectural conflicts, expanding the suite portfolio at Williams-Brice Stadium is impossible. But a variety of premium destinations will be installed to lure fans and donations with new amenities and experiences.
New premium areas to be introduced include a 132-seat loge seating area on top of the 2001 Club in the stadium’s southwest corner, where the team enters the field from the locker room. Fans will be able to see the players from the glass-enclosed club as they take the field. Additional clubs will be installed in the south end zone as well as in the east and west stands.
