A vote was recently passed by the Jacksonville City Council that approved a new, three-part project for EverBank Field. Within the proposal are renovations to the preexisting facility, as well as a covered, multi-use practice field and a new amphitheater. Within EverBank Field itself, additional cabana seating will replace approximately 3,000 club seats.
Investors in the project see the amphitheater as a way to bring a broader scope of entertainment and music events to the Jacksonville area and enhance fan experience at the overall complex. The covered field would also contribute to the flexibility of the facility.
Renderings of the new facilities are available, but construction plans have not been finalized. While funding for the $90 combined investment is a public-private partnership, private investment led by Jaguars owner Shad Khan will lead with construction.
