Premium Client Trips

Q:

If you currently offer suite holder or premium client trips:

  • How many clients do you typically take? Do you invite a guest/spouse also?
  • What is rationale for who is invited?
  • Is the trip paid for entirely by the team (including tickets, lodging, flight, F&B)?
  • What type of trip to you typically take?
  • If you can share your overall budget per year for a trip, please do.

A:

  • Three guests plus one per invite (six total)
  • How much they spend/renewal statua/level of fandom
  • Paid for: Flight on team plane, hotel, dinner at arena, maybe one dinner, but not all meals.
  • An away game with return back the next day or that same night.

A:

  • Roughly five to eight clients per year; clients bring a guest.
  • 3+ year renewals, 5+ year new sales
  • Yes, the trip is paid for entirely by the team
  • An away game trip
  • $2,500 per person. We add in a dinner with alumni and a meet and greet/chalk talk with our president, GM, and coach.

A:

  • We invite about 10-15 clients, along with a guest. Our sponsorship sales team also invites clients, probably triple the number that we invite.
  • We try to invite those who would most appreciate it, clients we know that are true fans or clients that we believe make their renewal decisions based on benefits.
  • Yes, we trade out with an airline partner, and we pay for the tickets to the games, hotel rooms, etc.
  • Away games on a summer weekend.

A:

  • 8-10 clients, plus a guest (16-20 people total)
  • I try to get one anchor client, someone who's been a client for a long time and sings our praises. Then I target renewals that are two years out, starting with the longest term clients. I do this so it isn't quite as obvious that they are being targeted because they are up for renewal. I try to target that two-year-away renewal so that the decision maker that we take will likely still be in that position when we start to discuss renewals the next year.
  • We pay for all organized events and meals. There are typically a couple breakfasts or a lunch where they are on their own.
  • Away game
  • We have $15,000 for our annual trip.

A:

  • College is a bit different, and it is based off the donation level instead of if you are or are not a suite holder. However, to get a suite there is a high donation required, so a lot of our suite holders/club members do go on our trips. We do typically allow the account holder a plus-one.
  • All based on donation level and points. The points are earned several ways but the fastest and biggest way they are earned is donations and consecutive years of donating. Also you earn points for being a season ticket holder to ANY of our ticketed sports.
  • Football trip: upwards of 200 people. Basketball trip: around 100 people.
  • Most of the expenses are taken care of on our labeled “donor tripsâ€ except lodging. We normally tell them where we are staying and get them a discounted rate.
  • The two biggest trips every year are the Football Away Game Trip and the Basketball Away Game Trip.

A:

  • 70-80 clients. Yes, we do invite a guest/spouse.
  • All half season suite holders and full season suite holders
  • Yes, the trip is paid for entirely by the team.
  • Away game trips.
  • Our overall budget per year is $75,000.

A:

  • In past years, they've taken two trips each season with about 10-20 guests. They invite the decision maker and a guest.
  • Renewals, and now in the new arena, it is included in 10-year contracts as an every year requirement.
  • Entirely paid for by team, all-inclusive.
  • Away game with activities included (golf, spa, other sporting events, local attractions)

A:

  • For our Spring Training trip, 45 clients plus guests. Roughly 80 to 90 total. For our in-season trip, 15-20 clients plus guests. Roughly 30 to 40 total.
  • For our Spring Training trip, we invite all our full and half suite holders. For our in-season trip, we invite suite holders that early renewed.
  • Yes, the trip is paid for entirely by the team.
  • Spring training budget is roughly $140,000 for the whole trip. In-season trip budget is approximately $30,000.

A:

  • We usually take four to six clients, and they can bring a guest/spouse, so we take 8-12 people on each trip, plus two to three staff members.
  • We plan two away game trips each year during the season.
  • We rotate our Suite Partners, so they end up going every two or three seasons on a trip.
  • The trip is paid entirely by the team, including hotel, flight, transportation to and from the stadium, game tickets, and usually most of the F&B. For one of the trips, we're usually able to fly with the team at least one way. For instance, if we're finishing up a homestand on a Sunday, we'll catch the flight with the team as they head out on the road, obviously if it coordinates with the road trip we're doing.
  • We budget $15,000 for both trips.

A:

  • We only have trips in our new suite renovations deals. These are five clients, and we allow them a plus-one.
  • All paid by the team
  • Away Game
  • Our budget for 2016 is $36,500.
