Alcohol Payments in Loge Boxes

Q:

We are in the process of building new loge boxes. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are included. However, alcoholic beverages are an additional cost. Does your venue offer an alternative payment option other than a per transaction cash bar?

A:

We utilize mobile tablets for the servers to take drink orders in the loge boxes. They are able to open tabs with a credit card for each box or take single-serving cash transactions. Drink tickets go to a bartender in the immediate vicinity, where the servers can pick up cocktails in a timely fashion.

A:

We offer a par bar in their box. At the beginning of the season, they tell us what they would like in their box at all times, and whenever beer or a bottle of liquor gets drank, we refresh the par and charge the card on file.

A:

We only offer a per transaction purchase in the loge box seats. The servers carry around a tablet device that can charge the cards.

A:

Our loge boxes actually have a cabinet included in their box that acts as a liquor cabinet and a purse/jacket closet. It is treated like a suite liquor cabinet. It is a little cumbersome as far as the mixers at the ledge box, but we work to provide the mixers that guests are requesting.

A:

One method that has worked for us in a few places I have been is an all you-can-drink beer and wine offer. We have charged anywhere from $25 to $30. Each guest receives a wristband, and the host pays for a bar attendant. The beer and wine was inexpensive. There was not an option to choose the brands. It was take it or leave it.

A:

Our suite holders enjoy the privilege of stocking and providing their own alcohol. Just suites. In our club area, it’s pay as you go beer and wine service up until the third quarter of each game.
