Fox Theatre Atlanta

The Fox Theatre Atlanta’s new Marquee Club presented by Lexus is slated to have a public opening in the fall of 2017. Expanding upon its footprint, the Fox Theatre will convert a former jazz club housed in the northeast corner of the building into the aforementioned Marquee Club. Fox Theatre’s most significant expansion since its opening in 1929, the Marquee Club will total 10,000 square feet of premium event space, encapsulating indoor, outdoor, and climate-controlled environments. A historic venue and protected landmark, Fox Theatre leadership selected Lord Aeck Sargent, a preeminent historical preservation design firm, to lead the architectural planning.

Lord Aeck Sargent’s architects are preserving the original historic exterior storefront and arcade walls. Innovative and detailed 3D-scanning technology has allowed the team to preserve intricate details of the historic building by documenting aspects of it that are impossible to see or reach by standard procedures.

The technology was used to design the mechanical systems, and plan for floor level changes. The collaboration across practice areas – Historic Preservation led by Susan Turner, Interiors led by John Schneider, as well as Project Manager and historic preservation expert Karen Gravel – exemplifies the complexity of the Marquee Club.

Borrowing from the Fox’s iconic Moorish and Persian design, the Marquee Club will be a visual spectacle, as guests will experience a seamless transition from the handcrafted, richly-toned furniture in one of its many lounges to the detailed design within the magnificent Fox Theatre.

Ensuring a premier experience, Marquee Club members and guests will have the opportunity to enjoy enhanced food and beverage service at the club’s five stationary bars with passed and displayed hors d’oeuvres located throughout. Guests may enter the club before and after events, as well as during intermission. Additional amenities will include priority pre-sale ticketing notifications, private restrooms, dedicated lobby elevator, concierge guest services, and self-parking access to an adjacent lot. Also at intermission, guests will have access to pre-ordered drinks, dessert, and coffee offerings.

Nearly 4,000 square feet of the Marquee Club’s 10,000-square-foot premium space will be outdoor-centric with climate-controlled, semi-controlled, and outdoor seating. Most notably, the Marquee Club will signify the return of the rooftop terrace, allowing public access to the Fox Theatre’s roof for the first time in decades. Overlooking Atlanta’s most famed street, Peachtree Street, guests will be able to venture from a climate-controlled glassed solarium to cooled and fully outdoor spaces.

As with the interior, the furniture will reflect Fox Theatre’s exotic design with luxury outdoor living furniture. Guests will have access to passed hors d’oeuvres and three dedicated exterior bars.
