Globe Life Field, Texas Rangers

Texas Rangers
A new ballpark was opened in Arlington, Texas, for the Rangers. As part of the new Globe Life Field, Daktronics installed more than 18,000 square feet of LED displays – nine in total – and more than 1,400 LEDs as part of a fully-integrated IPTV (Internet-Protocol Television) system. Connecting and controlling everything is Daktronics Show Control system.

The largest display in right field measures 58 feet high by 150 feet wide and the display in left field measures 40 feet high by 111 feet wide. Both feature 15-millimeter line spacing using SMD 3-in-1 LED technology. The control system features Daktronics new Camino and Live Clips solutions allowing for streamlined playback and real-time rendering capabilities above and beyond those available to teams in the past. Layers and effects combined with real-time renderings of data-driven graphics can now capture viewers’ attention much like broadcasts to home televisions.

Texas Rangers Executive Vice President, Ballpark Entertainment Chuck Morgan had this to say about the installation:
“The new home of the Texas Rangers, Globe Life Field, will have the most comfortable seat in baseball, and with this new technology from Daktronics, that seat just got better. The Daktronics Show Control System, coupled with Live Clips and Camino, gives the Texas Rangers a complete control system and powerful platforms to create a game presentation for Rangers fans that will be second to none in all of baseball. We are looking forward to bringing this game changer in the industry to our fans and enhancing their experience at Globe Life Field.”
