Matt Heller started his career in the attractions industry as a ride operator when he was 18. Over the years, Matt has worked his way up and around the industry, gaining experience at small, family-owned attractions as well as large theme parks like Universal Orlando Resort. Matt’s passion for the attractions industry and his knowledge of operations, leadership and human resources lead to the creation of his own company in 2011, Performance Optimist Consulting.
He now works with organizations large and small to ensure they have the right tools to be successful. Matt has written two books, The Myth of Employee Burnout and ALL CLEAR! A Practical Guide for First Time Leaders and the People Who Support Them. Matt also co-hosts the AttractionPros podcast, highlighting the top leaders and best practices within the attractions industry. Matt, his wife Linda, and their dog Otis live in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
